21 Peaceful Nurses

We offer workshops in a variety of lengths and formats. Please E-mail us regarding your needs and we can tailor a workshop to meet those needs. We offer one-hour talks, two-hour talks, half-day workshops, full-day workshops, weekend workshops, and retreats. We offer both lectures and experiential workshops, and combinations of the two.

Living With Feelings
Feelings either flow naturally, like a river, or get dammed up. If blocked, they may well up in the subconscious, possibly leading to unhealthy behaviors or illness. This workshop will guide participants towards a deeper appreciation of all emotions, including those labeled as negative. In a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere, we learn to express our feelings spontaneously through guided imagery, symbolism and movement. We learn to celebrate feelings as messages from the creative self. We will experience the joy of expressing through drawing, creative journaling and movement.

Visioning®
Visioning® is an expressive arts process that applies journaling, meditation and collage to design personal goals and dreams. Based on the book Visioning, Ten steps to Designing the Life of Your Dreams by Dr. Lucia Capacchione, PH.D. This workshop is designed to help you visualize your hearts desire in a tangible and effective form by using fun, easy and playful hands-on art activities. Bring your inner child and be prepared to play.

Foods & Moods

In the "Foods and Moods" workshop, we will explore these concepts and access our inner wisdom in a fun, creative, and supportive environment. Participants will:

  1. Gain insight into those emotional triggers that lead to painful or numbing behaviors through mind and body awareness exercises.
  2. Learn to honor our emotions and body through movement, inner body dialogue work, artwork, clay, journaling, Visioning® and other expressive arts.
  3. Walk away with fun, tangible, creative alternatives for accessing energy in order to lead a fully "in-bodied" life.

Please note, this is not a nutrition class. The operating belief is that we all have the inborn wisdom to give our bodies true nourishment, which is far greater than any nutritional score card. We will review basic good nutrition. We will use the creative arts process to access our inner wisdom and unleash blocked or dormant creative energy.

Mask-Making
Through shamanic mask-making, we call forth the inner self thatwants to express in our lives at this time. Engaging in written journal conversations, we discover wisdom and guidance contained into these emerging aspects of self. Through voice dialogue we recognize these new energies and learn to express them in everyday life, at work, home, in relationships, and more.

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
The MSBR Program introduces its participants to the concept of mindfulness, which involves learning how to bring a new level of awareness to each moment and shifting from automatic reactivity to daily stressors and mindfully responding to them. Mindfulness transcends techniques as it is actually a way of living and of learning to experience the richness and fullness of life as it unfolds, moment by moment. Mindfulness is the heart of the MBSR Program and is taught through a combination of body awareness exercises, sitting and walking meditation, and gentle yoga.

Connections
Recent world events have shown us how important relationships are in creating a healthy and safe world. Regardless if the relationship is with yourself, a significant other, the Divine, your family, friends or a future desired relationship, it is critical that these interactions be examined, nurtured and healed. In this workshop we will explore relationships through movement, collage making and creative journaling techniques.

The Creative Power of Dreams
We all carry within us rich sources of wisdom. Often this wisdom speaks to us in its own language of symbols, fantasies, and dreams. By examining our dream life we can often tap into these aspects of our psyche and unleash powerful sources of creativity.

In this workshop we will explore techniques that will help you;

Mandela Wisdom
A Mandela is an ancient circular object symbolizing wholeness that has been used in many wisdom traditions such as native American Indians and Tibetan monks. Mandela art is a discipline that allows us to find order and integration of the various aspects of our self. This workshop provides a vehicle to examine and integrate those aspects of our life such as health, work, relationships, community and spirituality. Combining art and centering exercises we will explore the connection between our self and the universe.

Picture of Health
This workshop offers a way to look at yourself and create a healthier life. We will learn to reshape life from the inside out using expressive arts combined with practical useful exercises such as movement, visualization, meditation and well tested-practical wellness resources.

Inner Visions: Accessing, Honoring, and Expressing the Creative Imagination

A six week experiential workshop celebrating creativity, connection and community

Imagination and creativity are divine gifts that are available to everyone not just a chosen few. Whether your work in the world is that of an artist, musician, poet, sales clerk, computer programmer, executive, parent, or cab driver we are all hard wired for creativity. There is a deep and "wild" place inside us all where our unique creative fingerprint resides. Some people call this the soul.

Many of us have learned to silence our creativity due to the demands of everyday life. We may claim we are not creative or we don't have time for it. We are too busy earning a living or running errands to stop and listen to the creative voice that desperately wants our attention.

In this six week experiential workshop we will explore the dynamics of spirit, imagination and creativity through a series of fun, expressive arts exercises. Using mask making, poetry, journaling, intuitive art, Improv, storytelling, mandalas, and dreams, we will explore the inners dimensions of our creative spirit.

We will provide a safe and encouraging space for a community that appreciates various creative disciplines and supports people at all experience levels. No previous art needed.
